Hi Guys – Love the podcast.

I’m wondering if you can recommend a plug-in for me. I have a
directory of about 500 contacts and I would like to display them in a
search-able fashion on my Wordpress site.

Do you know of any address book or directory type plugin that would
allow users to search based on a key word from a specific contact? I
know I can paste the info into a page but then when something on the
page is searched for the result brings up the page and not the
specific location on the page. With a list of 500 that type of search
is quite useless. I guess there is the option to put each contact
into a separate post but there has to be a better way.

Any help is appreciated. Keep up the good work.

Justin

We recommended WP Contact Manager or a Business Directory plugin

We love alliteration this week on WordCast, therefore we can’t stop. But no worries, WordPress will still be working its’ wonderful part in this week’s wacky wonderfest. (Darn… did it again.) From Twitter to space (to Twitter in space) and everything WordPress in between, you won’t want to miss a minute.

WordCast will be hosting a live, call-in, discussion Tuesday, May 12th from 3pm to 4pm Pacific Time (6pm Eastern)!

Make sure you tune in to bitwirelive.com then to watch the live video stream featuring Jane Wells, Kym Huynh, myself, and, of course, all of your calls and chatroom messages. The topic?

How can WordPress’s communication and participation between Automattic, the WP developers, and the WordPress community be improved? What are your thoughts?

To Participate:

Phone: 1-724-444-7444, using TalkCast ID 50127. To identify yourself with a name before we take you on the air, sign up for an account at TalkShoe.com and enter your PIN when asked when calling in. Otherwise, follow the directions to enter as a guest. You can also use TalkShoe’s VoIP solution to chime in by registering there and following their instructions.

Chat: Jane, Dave and Kym will be monitoring our two IRC chat rooms throughout the show, taking questions and comments: irc.wyldryde.org #bitwirelive and irc.freenode.com #wordpress-dev. You can login to these rooms using an IRC client such as XChat or Colloquy, or join the #bitwirelive chat using the built-in web client at bitwirelive.com.

Twitter: We’ll be taking Twitter questions throughout the hour-long show. Just begin your tweets with @wordcast and tag them by including #wclive at the end to make sure we can see them.

Email: Send emails to mail@wordcastpodcast.com during the show with the subject “LIVE Yournamehere”. We’ll take them on the air.
